Install programs without the Android SDK, move and create backups for your Kodi data or move it to external drives using this software solution
What's new in adbLink (adbFire) 4.3:
- Fix for spurious 'device unauthorized' when connecting
- Internal support links reverted to http from https
AdbLink aka AdbFireis a lightweight piece of software specially designed for devices running Kodi for Android that enables you to manage your data more efficiently and seamlessly install apps without having to bother with the Android SDK.
Entails a medium-difficulty configuration
While the installation is quick and straightforward, there is a chance that you could experience some difficulties connecting your device. Consequentially, make sure that the proper permissions are set in the firewall, the IP address you are employing is correct and that the gadget is set up correctly.
In case you continue viewing the device as Offline, although you all of the above are set, then one way you can try to fix this is by toggling the ADB Debugging on and off from the dedicated menus in your Fire TV.
You will be happy to learn that you can connect as many devices as want and that adding a new device is a rather intuitive process. To put it simply, you can add a device by specifying a description, address, the Kodi partition, package name, file path, the media center as well as the Pull Folder.
Enables you to create backups for your Kodi data
As you probably already hinted, creating backups for your Kodi data entails accessing the Button with the same name. It is worth mentioning that it is recommended that you run Kodi at least one time before you can use the function, as the app cannot create backups of empty directories. At the same time, if you are running other apps other than Kodi, you may have to change the package name and File Path.
In addition to backups, you can also install applications on your device without having to go through the trouble of installing the Android SDK. The other noteworthy functions of the utility include erasing, screenshot, restore, console, open SFTP, splash screen, remote or view log, just to name a few.
A useful utility that can help you manage Kodi data more efficiently
In the eventuality that you are using Kodi on your Android tablet or smartphone and would like to move, copy, backup or restore data more effectively, then perhaps adbLink could come in handy.

I tried to use it to install the Xfinity apk but, like Brandon, I could not find it under Manage Installed Applications even though the app reported success in uploading. It did appear to install it to a temporary folder, perhaps that’s the issue? pkg: /data/local/tmp/XFINITY TV Go 2.5.0.002.apk

January 22, 2017 at 11:17 amActually, it did work, I just didn’t see it at first.
Unfortunately, the xfinity app wasn’t the latest and tried to update itself through the google play store, which failed.
Found a newer version and going to try it now. Viper ftp 5 2 3d.
